Care of Older Persons in Southern Africa Network

COPSAN is a network of cross-disciplinary scholars, policymakers and practitioners in ageing research across southern Africa connecting with scholars from the Global North to determine and address challenges to aged care provision in southern Africa.

The COPSAN Network contributes to the knowledge and welfare of older people in the region, including factors that will deliver the best outcomes for their care. Through building capacity, identifying gaps in knowledge, and prioritizing research direction, our activities have significant long-term impact on older people in southern Africa. We help scholars understand region-specific issues and assists leaders, donors, and technical experts in the process of policymaking of elderly care provision.
